We are one week away from our first public play test over on itch.io! The whole team has been baring down to make sure we can provide the best player experience as the game stands now. You won’t be able to access the whole game, but you will get to experience your first two cook-off competitions.

We will also be posting a short optional survey that will allow you to give us feedback on the game. We will be asking a few questions about your play style to give us some background about you as a player, but the bulk of the questions will ask about the game and the different aesthetic elements. We will not be asking for any further information from you to protect your privacy. We hope that you'll take the time to complete this questionnaire and provide us with any further questions, comments, and bug reports.

We are open to any feedback you may have during this play test, and we encourage you to contact us at moongoosegame@gmail.com. See you March 3rd!

Now that we have things set up over here it seems reasonable to look back at the journey that got us here. We are a team of five game designers working out of the BGN Lab at Wilfrid Laurier University in Brantford, ON. We were tasked at the beginning of the year to create a futuristic simulation game for our capstone project, and we started running. We went through many iterations on our creative path; we've been a farming sim set around the one remaining seed vault in a post apocalyptic would, we were a dating sim in space courting aliens to build interplanetary alliances, we were a combination of both at one point. But the first draft that came closest to what Intergalactic Cook-Off is today was the Moongoose Pit-stop. Your one stop shop on the interplanetary highway for food, fun, and relaxation. A hospitable little diner in the milky way galaxy that last remaining slice of earth. The game revolved around talking with travelers on the lonely highway and then inviting them to stay move into the Moongoose Pit-stop. The Moongoose Pit-stop is still very close to us, but the Intergalactic Cook-Off is the embodiment of our collective passions.

Welcome to the Intergalactic Cook-Off! You are an aspiring chef who has set off to preform in the most esteemed cooking competition in the galaxy. The Intergalactic Cook-Off caravan travels from planet to planet testing their competitors ability against the skills of the local professionals. The challenge of the Intergalactic Cook-off this year is that solo teams can't compete in the finale. The finalists will have to have a team lead by a head chef in order to compete against last years champion. As you compete your skills will be recognized by your competition and some might even ask to join your team so you can lead them in the season finale. So get ready to chop, stir, and season you way to victory to impress not only your judges but also the competition! We're so excited to share Intergalactic Cook-Off with you soon! Our first demo will be up on itch.io in early March and we'll be looking for any and all feedback you have on the game. You can stay up to date and come chat with us on Twitter @MoongooseGame where we update weekly into the development of the game. We're looking forward to hearing from you soon!
